Manatee
Hurricanes
Cancelled: 902 33rd St Ct W, Bradenton, FL 34205

We hope you will join us tomorrow night at Hawkins Stadium on the campus of Manatee High School in Bradenton to cheer on the Dreadnaughts as they take on the Hurricanes. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm and the tickets are $6.00 each and can be purchased at the gate.

The Dreadnaughts look to build upon a successful kickoff classic defeating the East Bay Indians 42-6.

Kevaris Thomas led the Dreadnaughts with 280 yards passing and 3 touchdowns in addition to adding 50 yards and a touchdown on the ground.  RB Demarkcus Bowman went over the 100 yard mark including ripping off a 74 yard touchdown run.  Daikwon Lawson led all receivers with 6 catches for 115 yards and Antonio Whitehead, Keon Zipperer, and G’Darian West were all recipients of Thomas touchdown passes. Carlos Best provided highlights of his own picking off an Indians pass and returning it 25 yards for a Dreadnaughts touchdown.

Looking ahead to tomorrow night’s contest, the Manatee Hurricanes welcome a new coach in Yusuf Shakir, a former state championship coach at Lincoln HS. The Hurricanes are led by running back Joshua Booker, who was a state finalist weightlifter and member of the track team. He will be joined in the backfield by Keyon Fordham, who averaged 10.5 yards per carry last season. The Hurricanes welcome their own transfer QB with Ryan O’Neil taking over the offense after transferring from Bayshore. Defensively the Hurricanes welcome a new group of starters after graduating most of their front seven.

For those of you out of the area or unable to make the trip to Bradenton, Manatee High School has informed us they have a webcast they provide on their website http://www.manateefootball.com/
