Born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama where he was a graduate of Lee High School, in 1988. Coach Harbin played baseball and football for the Generals. He would later go on to attend and graduate from The University of North Alabama, with a Health, Physical Education/Recreation and Business Management Degree. Coach Harbin would volunteer coach at Lee High School from 1991-1992 while attending college. In 1993 Coach Harbin was fortunate enough to fill a needed role as an graduate assistant coach with the offensive line at The University of North Alabama, which would also lead to 3 consecutive National Championships from ’93-’94-’95. During that 3 year span, the team had a record of 41-1. In 1997, Coach Harbin attended and graduated from Athens State University, with his Physical Education/Health teaching degree. In 1998 Coach Harbin was hired as the Offensive/Defensive line coach at Gordon Lee High School, in Chickamauga, Georgia, where he also filled various coaching duties. 

Then From 2000-2004, Coach Harbin coached at Hardee High School, in Wauchula, Florida, and was the Defensive Line Coach, as well as Head Softball Coach. During the 4 year span with the wildcats, Coach Harbin enjoyed 3 district titles and also was an assistant coach on the South Central All-Star Classic from 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003. In 2004 Coach Harbin brought his coaching talent to Polk County and was working with the Auburndale Bloodhounds. During his first year at Auburndale, the bloodhounds won their district title. In 2007, Coach Harbin was a coach with the Lakeland Thunderbolts arena football team and coached Lakeland High great and Dreadnaught linebacker coach Deaubrey Devine at the linebacker/fullback position, in which the Thunderbolts won the Southern division with a 13-3 record. In 2008, Coach Harbin was a P.E. instructor and football coach and worked with Cobb County Schools, in the Atlanta, Georgia area for the next two years. The past two seasons 2010-2012, were spent in Osceola County, teaching and coaching with the St. Cloud Bulldogs, filling various roles, such as Defensive Line, Offensive Line and Offensive Coordinator. 

This will be his fourth year with the Dreadnaughts where he will be coaching the running backs and the assistant head coach. His teaching duties will be in the ESE department at LHS.  

Brent’s mother, Faye Harbin, still resides in Huntsville. He has an older brother, Bruce, who resides here in Florida.
